has been elected to the prestigious American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons (AAGS). The AAGS is an association of leading academic urologists from the United States, Canada and around the world who are dedicated to the study of diseases of the genitourinary system, including prostate and bladder cancer.

Bahnson, who is director of the division of urologic surgery and the Dave Longaberger Chair in Urology at OSU, was one of five new members elected during the annual meeting in April in Boca Raton, Fla. Membership is limited to 75 urologists who meet once a year for scientific presentations.

Bahnson, who joined the Ohio State faculty in 1996, is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Urologic Association, the Society of University Urologists, the Society of Urologic Oncology and the American Association for Cancer Research. He has published widely on prostate and bladder cancer and other urologic and oncology topics.
