Twenty-two physicians at Ohio State University Primary Care Network offices have been acknowledged by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Diabetes Physician Recognition Program.
The Diabetes Physician Recognition Program is designed to improve the quality of care that patients receive by recognizing physicians that deliver quality diabetes care. To receive recognition, which is valid for three years, physicians submitted data that demonstrated performance meeting the program’s key diabetes care measures. These measures include control of blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure, eye and foot exams, among others.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations and recognizes physicians in key clinical areas. The American Diabetes Association is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization supporting diabetes research, information and advocacy.
