Robert Bahnson, MD, Chair
Operating under Ohio State’s College of Medicine and the University’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute, the Department of Urology offers comprehensive education,
research and clinical care programs. Among many recent accomplishments is establishment of an internationally recognized robotic prostatectomy center, an incontinence and voiding disorders practice with a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities, and a kidney stone management program with ambulatory treatment using lithotripsy and ureteral endoscopy. A recent Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) review of Urology’s residency program resulted in a commendation and full accreditation with a five-year review cycle, the longest period that can be granted. Urology’s resident complement was permanently increased to three per year. The Department will strengthen its commitment to patient care with the addition of five faculty in 2008.
