 Bequests and Trusts/Planned Giving

You can contribute to the future of rehabilitation research and patient care within The Ohio State University Medical Center’s Rehabilitation Programs through a planned gift such as a bequest or charitable trust. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this and enhance your financial and estate plans. In addition, these gifts may reduce your income and estate taxes.

Gifts That Give Back

Gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts are examples of planned gifts that can provide annual payments for you, your spouse or another person; reduce your taxes through the charitable deduction; produce income from highly appreciated, but low-yielding assets; and save estate/gift taxes.

Gifts by Will

If you are concerned about preserving current income and investments but still want to make a special financial gift, you can remember Ohio State’s Rehabilitation Programs in your will. In addition, you can name us as the beneficiary of retirement plans, trusts or life insurance policies. Such gifts can reduce estate taxes.

Planned gifts can help you leave a legacy of hope – providing funding for research for new techniques and treatments to improve rehabilitation for patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, motion disorders or a disease that has affected you or your family. To discuss various giving options and how you and your family can benefit from planned gifts, please contact us as listed below. We also encourage you to consult with your personal advisers.

For more detailed information about these and other planned gifts, see The Ohio State University's online Gift Planning guide.

If you have already included Ohio State’s Rehabilitation Programs in your long-range financial plans or your will, thank you and please contact Leigh Briggs at 614-293-5522 so we can ensure your wishes will be fulfilled as you intend.
