Our Services

The chaplains of the Department of Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education serve as members of the Medical Center team, providing supportive pastoral, emotional and spiritual care. Our professional chaplains are theologically and clinically trained, and have special education and advanced training in ministering in the hospital setting.

Our work reflects:

  • Sensitivity to multi-cultural and multi-faith realities.
  • Respect for patients' spiritual or religious preferences.
  • Understanding of the impact of illness and medical crises on individuals and their caregivers.

We seek to offer excellent pastoral and spiritual care. We also participate in pastoral research and apply new knowledge and best practices to our work, while educating the next generation of pastors and chaplains through our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) programs and other education offerings.
