Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To contact a chaplain, call the OSU Medical Center main campus office at (614) 293-8791 or University Hospital East at (614) 257-3255, weekdays from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Outside of these hours call the hospital operator at (614) 293-8000 and ask for the chaplain on-call.
If a patient needs assistance contacting their own pastor or faith representative, please call the Department of Chaplaincy (see phone numbers above) and provide the following information:
- The patient’s name and room number
- The name of the their clergy/faith representative, their church or place of worship, and a telephone number if known
The Department of Chaplaincy can be contacted for ethics consultations. The Ethics Committee has members from different professions who can help work through choices about treatment options or end of life care issues.
