The Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has one of the largest organ transplant programs in the nation.
The Center performs nearly 400 kidney, liver, pancreas, combined kidney/pancreas, heart and bone marrow transplants each year.
In 2006, the Center also became the first academic medical center in the state to perform a combined heart-lung transplant.
The CTC is a pioneer in creating transplant discoveries through research which become life-saving treatments for our patients. For example, the CTC has recently been approved by the FDA to conduct clinical trials of islet cell transplants, a revolutionary therapy which may offer hope of a cure for Type I Diabetes patients.
