Our Program

Patients at The Ohio State University Medical Center's Sleep Disorders Center receive individualized treatment based on their unique characteristics and symptoms at our state-of-the-art sleep center located at University Hospital East. Staffed by physicians who are board-certified in sleep disorders medicine, as well as registered polysomnographic technologists, we provide treatment for many types of sleep disorders.

Patients also benefit from the pioneering research and treatment our physicians are engaged in. For example, our physicians established an integrated program that treats congestive heart failure (CHF) patients also experiencing sleep disorders. Since launching this integrated program, physicians have seen, on average, a 10 percent to 30 percent improvement in heart function among many patients with CHF using CPAP machines that deliver continuous positive airway pressure during sleep.

Children under the age of 18 are usually referred to Children’s Hospitals’ Sleep Disorders Center which assists primary care physicians and specialists with the diagnosis and treatment of infants, children and adolescents with sleep problems.
