Nerve Tumors

There are two main types of nerve tumors: schwannomas and neurofibromas. There are some other types of nerve tumors, although they are very rare. Both schwannomas and neurofibromas can happen as part of a genetic condition, called neurofibromatosis or schwannomatosis. More often, though, they can happen sporadically without any familial or genetic predisposition. Nerve tumors can occur next to the spinal cord or in any nerve in your body.
