Treatment Options 

Treatments vary, according to tumor type, and include:

  • Neurosurgery (stereotactic biopsy, craniotomy for tumor excision)
  • Radiation (whole brain, limited field, stereotactic radiosurgery, fractionated stereotactic radiosurgery/radiotherapy, gamma knife)
  • Chemotherapy (Temozolomide, anti-angiogenesis with Avastin)

In some cases, specialized technical adjuncts are employed such as:

  • Awake craniotomy (view video)
  • Functional mapping (including cortical or motor mapping)
  • Intraoperative navigation
  • Intraoperative MRI
