Glen Aukerman has served as a professor in The Ohio State University College of Medicine Department of Family Medicine since 1995 and as chair of the department from 1995-1998. He served as a professor in the West Virginia University School of Medicine's Department of Family Medicine where he was chair of the department from 1995-1998. He has been named as one of the Best Doctors in America every year since 2003. He also served as interim medical director for The Ohio State University Managed Health Care Plan from 2000-2009 while he was also medical director for Nationwide Health Plans.

Among other positions, Dr. Aukerman has also served as chief medical officer at the National Practitioner Data Bank and as deputy director and chief medical officer in the Division of Quality Assurance for the Bureau of Health Professions of the Health Resources and Services Administration in Rockville, MD, 1991-1993. He founded Aukerman Medical Centers in Jackson Center, Ohio, where he worked from 1966-1991. He practiced family medicine at St. Rita's Medical Center and was chief of staff there from 1980-81.

Dr. Aukerman's other areas of expertise include applied nutrigenomics, managed care and medical quality assurance. He served in 1993 on the White House Health Reform Task Force Speakers Panel and is a past president of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. He has served on many steering and development committees addressing quality and managed care issues.

Linda Chun, a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Department of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University and Columbus Children's Hospital, is an integrative  physician at the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine. Dr. Chun completed Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training in 2002.  She is currently teaching beginner to advanced ashtanga yoga in the Columbus area.

Dr. Chun has a strong interest in integrative medicine.  She is currently enrolled in the Associate Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona, to be completed in 2008. Anup Kanodia, MD, MPH is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University and an integrative physician at the Center for Integrative Medicine.

He has a strong interest in comprehensive medical care based on the best scientific evidence that encourages patients to share in decision making and that promotes choices in care that can include integrative medical therapies, when appropriate.

Dr. Kanodia earned his doctor of medicine from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine and his master's degree in public health from Harvard School of Public Health. After serving as staff physician at the Marino Center for Integrative Health, Dr. Kanodia joined the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine in September 2009.

Ruslana Kurpita, MD, is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at The Ohio State University and an integrative physician at the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine.

She completed her residency in Family Medicine at The Ohio State University in 2008. During that time she developed a strong interest in nutrition, vitamins, supplements and herbal medicine.

Dr.Kurpita spent one year at the Center for Integrative Medicine doing a longitudinal rotation with Dr.Aukerman during her last year of residency studying nutrigenomics.

She earned her medical degree from Danylo Halytskiy L'viv State Medical University,
L'viv, Ukraine. Dr.Kurpita completed rotation at the China Medical University of Taiwan at the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine studying herbal medicine.

Katie Scholl received her undergraduate degree from Mount Carmel College of Nursing and received her master's degree from Otterbein College.

She worked previously in the MICU at Ohio State's Medical Center as a critical care nurse, while earning her master's degree. During her time as a critical care nurse she discovered her desire to work more closely with families and preventive medicine.

Katie, who joined the OSU Center for Integrative Medicine in 2010, works closely with Dr. Aukerman in the nutrigenomics program. She has also spent a lot of time with our other providers to expand her knowledge of integrative medicine. Katie sees patients age three and older for primary care needs.

Hari Sharma has a long and distinguished career in the field of medicine and medical research. He has been practicing Ayurvedic medicine in Columbus for many years.

He is professor emeritus and former director of Cancer Prevention and Natural Products Research at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He has published more than 145 research papers, has authored over 270 abstracts and presentations, and has written four books, mainly on subjects related to Ayurveda.

Dr. Sharma is a member of various national and international professional societies. He is also distinguished as a Fellow of the National Academy of Ayurveda, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Sharma is a diplomate of the American Board of Holistic Medicine.

Dr. Sharma has lectured worldwide at various medical institutions and conferences, and has presented research findings to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Sharma earned two medical degrees: an MBBS in 1961 and MD, with a focus in pathology in 1965 from Lucknow University in his native India. He also earned a master of science degree from The Ohio State University in 1969.

He received certification in Pathologic Anatomy from the American Board of Pathology in 1970 and completed a fellowship in Anatomic Pathology also in 1970 at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and served in The Ohio State University's Department of Pathology from 1980-1995.

His practice at the CIM focuses on the comprehensive, multi-strategy, prevention-oriented healthcare system of Ayurveda.

Amanda Sonk, LMT

Amanda is a licensed massage therapist licensed and has been practicing since 2006. She also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and criminology from Capital University. Amanda will customize each massage to include certain techniques needed to effectively address specific needs of clients. Amanda provides Swedish massage which promotes relaxation and reduced muscle tension; deep tissue/neuromuscular therapy techniques which involve site-specific massage including deep pressure to tender areas caused by tight muscles; and myofascial release which releases tightness associated with scar tissue by stretching connective tissue and breaking adhesions in the fascia allowing more functional flexibility and mobility.

Wang holds licensure as a physician to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western medicine in mainland China where he practiced in a hospital for 10 years before coming to the United States in 1995. He earned his Master's of Medicine in 1990 at the China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with concentration (similar to U.S. fellowship) on training and research in Rheumatism. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine in 1985 at the Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Wang has served as academic dean at International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, N.M. from 1995 to 2000, and dean of Oriental Medicine at American Institute of Alternative Medicine in Columbus since 2001.

He designed, established and instructed the professional master's level of acupuncture program there, the first in the state of Ohio and is the founder and president of Ohio State Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

He received the Columbus City Council Certificate of Honor and Recognition for designing the first Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program in the State of Ohio and for his academic leadership, training and guidance at the American Institute of Alternative Medicine.

The Ohio House of Representatives also honored Wang for outstanding contributions to the field of alternative medicine in November, 2004.

He has published numerous books and research articles in China on the topics of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
