Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Ohio State’s Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is the largest and most advanced unit in central Ohio dedicated to diagnosing and treating adult patients with epilepsy.

The new EMU features:

• Expanded capacity (8 beds total)
• All private rooms
• State-of-the-art equipment
• Day room for patients to engage in social activities

Our EMU Team includes:

• Epileptologists Sheri Hart, MD, PhD; Charles Hall, MD, PhD; J. Layne Moore, MD, MPH; and Bassel Shneker, MD
• Staff of trained and registered EEG technologists and neurology nurses

Ohio State is designated as the only adult level 4 Epilepsy Center in central Ohio by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers which means we are equipped to provide patients the most complex forms of epilepsy treatments.
