This level of care allows patients to maintain family and work responsibilities. Set in three-hour evening or morning sessions, the program operates three days a week. If clinically indicated, a patient may attend sessions up to seven days a week.
There is family programming each week and 12-step participation is stressed.
For those recovering from narcotic pain medication or heroin addiction there is a weekly opiate recovery session that can be integrated as a part of a patient's Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
A specialized Women's Intensive Outpatient Program is also offered that brings female patients together with a specialized therapist to deal with challenges women face in recovery.
Patients completing IOP are offered continuing care group sessions for one year free of charge. Continuing care groups meet for 90 minutes once a week.
A patient may attend intensive outpatient sessions as a continuation from previous levels of care or as a direct admission to this level of care.
