Charles Love, MD, is a cardiologist and professor of clinical medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He is also director of electrophysiology device clinics for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.
A world-renowned as an expert and leader in techniques of pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) lead extraction, Dr. Love was named one of America’s Best Doctors in 2009.
Dr. Love earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his residency in internal medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He also completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at Ohio State’s College of Medicine.
Dr. Love has published many abstracts and peer reviewed journal articles, as well as numerous book chapters and a single authored book on pacing and ICDs. He is a member of multiple medical advisory boards and also is a member and Fellow of numerous professional societies, including the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society and the American Heart Association. He serves both as chair of the Pacing and ICD Examination for Competency in Pacing and Defibrillation and president of the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners.
Dr. Love’s specialty interests are pacemaker and ICD implantation, lead extraction and electrophysiologic studies. His research focuses on investigational heart rhythm management devices and cardiac arrhythmias. He is a sought-after speaker on the subjects of pacemakers, ICD, lead extraction, cardiac resynchronization therapy and arrhythmias.
