Biography:


Edmund Kassis, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon and assistant professor of surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Kassis earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He completed his residency in general surgery at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and his residency in thoracic surgery at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Dr. Kassis also completed a fellowship in surgical oncology in the surgery branch of the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md.

Dr. Kassis’s clinical interests include all aspects of general thoracic surgery, particularly thoracic surgical oncology and minimally invasive surgery. His research is focused in the use of novel molecular strategies to aid in the staging and treatment of lung and esophageal cancer.
