Biography:


Laxmi Mehta, MD, is the clinical director of the Women’s Cardiovascular Health Program and an assistant professor of clinical medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center. Dr. Mehta is also the associate program director for education for Ohio State’s Center for Women’s Health.

Dr. Mehta earned her medical degree at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. She completed her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in clinical cardiology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich. Dr. Mehta also underwent additional training in advanced cardiac imaging (CT/MRI) at the Ministrelli Women’s Heart Center at William Beaumont Hospital.

Dr. Mehta developed and serves as the course director for Ohio State’s Annual Women’s Cardiovascular Health Conference. She is also an appointed member of the American College of Cardiology’s Women in Cardiology Council.

Dr. Mehta is an avid promoter and educator on women’s cardiovascular health and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. In addition to focusing on women’s cardiovascular health, Dr. Mehta specializes in echocardiography, cardiovascular computed tomography and cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.
