Sanjay Rajagopalan, MD, holds the John W. Wolfe Professorship in Cardiovascular Research at The Ohio State University. Dr Rajagopalan is section director of Vascular Medicine, co-director of the Cardiovascular MR/CT Program and the associate director of Ohio State’s Davis Heart and Lung Institute.
Dr. Rajagopalan completed his training in cardiovascular medicine and in vascular biology at Emory University School of Medicine Atlanta in 1998. Prior to his faculty appointment at Ohio State, he held faculty positions at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he directed the Vascular Medicine Program and at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City where he was director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging.
Dr. Rajagopalan has published more than 200 peer reviewed publications in leading journals including JAMA, NEJM, Circulation and the Journal of Clinical Investigation and has authored more than three textbooks and several dozen book chapters. He has been continually funded by the National Institutes of Health and routinely serves on several NIH study sections. Dr. Rajagopalan is a widely invited speaker internationally and has served as the Principal Investigator for a number of Phase I/II clinical trials in vascular disease.
