C. B. Sai Sudhakar, MD, FACS, FRCS, is a cardiothoracic surgeon and an assistant professor of surgery at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
Dr. Sai Sudhakar earned his medical degree from Stanley Medical College in Madras, India. Dr. Sai Sudhakar completed the Yale-affiliated residency program at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut, and was chief resident of Cardiothoracic Surgery at The Ohio State University Hospital. He completed surgical fellowships at the Royal College of Surgeons and University of Glasgow in the United Kingdom, at Yale University and at the American College of Surgeons in Chicago.
Dr. Sai Sudhakar has a special interest in mechanical circulatory support devices and heart transplantation. He is a leader in the field of artificial heart pumps for advanced heart failure, as well as an expert in valve surgery, aortic surgery and complex high-risk cardiac surgery.
Dr. Sai Sudhakar is actively involved in several clinical and science research projects investigating the mechanisms of heart failure and understanding the pathophysiology of heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
