Melissa Goist, MD, is a general obstetrician and gynecologist and assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Born and raised in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Goist earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo (now known as University of Toledo College of Medicine).
Dr. Goist completed her residency at Ohio State where she was named chief resident and won a resident-student teaching award. She also published a case report with the oncology team “Invasive Cervical Adenocarcinoma Immediately following a Cone Biopsy for ACIS with Negative Margins.”
Since joining the faculty at Ohio State, Dr. Goist has continued her focus on medical education as the assistant clerkship director. She won the Faculty Medical Student Teaching Award, CREOG Faculty Teaching Award and the APGO Faculty Teaching Award presented by the medical students and residents for excellence in education.
