Cynthia Evans, MD, is a general obstetrician and gynecologist and an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She sees patients with a variety of obstetric and gynecologic issues.
Dr. Evans was raised in Columbus, Ohio. She earned her medical degree at The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude. While at Ohio State, she was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Evans completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University.
Immediately after completing her residency, Dr. Evans worked in private practice for three years in Columbus before joining the faculty as an assistant professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was promoted to associate professor in 2000.
Dr. Evans staffs the resident inpatient services, and provides both didactic and clinical teaching for students and residents. She was a member of the inaugural class of the Faculty Teaching Scholars at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Her research interests are focused in the area of menopause – both hormone therapy and alternative therapies, serving as principal investigator on several national trials which evaluated treatment options for menopausal women. She has lectured extensively on various topics regarding the treatment of menopause symptoms and osteoporosis, and is an active member on several committees for the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). She is a NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner.
