Richard O'Shaughnessy, MD, is director of the Fetal Treatment Program and professor of obstetrics and gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He received his medical degree from Ohio State, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Northwestern University Memorial Hospital in Chicago and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Barnes Hospital, Washington University. Dr. O’Shaughnessy then completed a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at The Ohio State University.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal fetal medicine, Dr. O’Shaughnessy
served as division director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Ohio State from 1982-92. He was the director of perinatology at Riverside Methodist Hospital from 1993- 2004, and has served as
director of the Fetal Treatment Program at Ohio State since 1993.
Dr. O’Shaughnessy is on the Steering Committee and chairman of the Publications Committee of the North American Fetal Treatment Network (NAFTNet). He is co-director of the Columbus Fetal Medicine Collaborative.
