Brian Bowyer, MD, is an associate professor of clinical physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He also serves as a staff physician and physical medicine and rehabilitation consultant at The Ohio State University Sports Medicine Center, as well as at the Chalmers P. Wylie Ambulatory Care Center.
Dr. Bowyer is an elected member of Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha, has received the "Teacher of the Year" Award from the Ohio State’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residents five times, and has been selected by peers for recognition as one of the "Best Doctors in America" for 13 years since 1996.
Dr. Bowyer earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at The Ohio State University Medical Center.
His professional interests and activities focus on electrodiagnostic medicine and sports medicine with a strong emphasis on education, as well as PM&R specialty and electrodiagnostic medicine subspecialty board certification. He has published abstracts, articles, and book chapters, presented teleconferences and live webcasts, and has conducted educational workshops and given presentations at national meetings.
Dr. Bowyer serves as a manuscript reviewer for several specialty journals, and serves as "Moderator" as well as an "Expert Contributor" for the "Sports Medicine" and "Amputation" Health Topic areas of NetWellness, a web-based consumer health information site.
He is a Fellow of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
