Subha Raman, MD, MSEE, FACC, FAHA is a cardiologist and professor of internal medicine, biomedical informatics and radiology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. After undergraduate and graduate studies in electrical engineering as a National Science Foundation Fellow, Dr. Raman completed medical training including fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, with additional training in cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) at Wake Forest University.
Dr. Raman established the cardiovascular MR and CT programs at Ohio State’s College of Medicine upon joining the faculty in 2002. In 2006, she also established Ohio State’s subspecialty fellowship in cardiovascular imaging, which attracts trainees from around the world.
Dr. Raman has published more than 100 papers and was named one of America’s Best Doctors in 2009. Her clinical interests include family risk and heritable heart disease, cardiac disease in neuromuscular disorders, ischemic heart disease and cardiomyopathies.
Dr. Raman’s research team works to develop innovations in cardiovascular imaging that provide earlier detection, more accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment of heart and vascular disease. The American Heart Association recognized Dr. Raman’s leadership in cardiovascular research by naming her as one of five associate editors of the journal Circulation: Cardiovascular Imaging.
