Pregnancy and childbirth services at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center combine family-centered care with the most current information and advanced technologies. We’ll partner with you to have a healthy pregnancy and plan for delivery, all while keeping your individual needs in mind.
Our Patients
Women with both routine pregnancies and high-risk pregnancies choose to have their babies at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. We welcome approximately 4,500 buckeye babies each year, including hundreds of babies from our own faculty and staff. All the beautiful photography that you will see throughout our maternity center, are pictures of buckeye babies that were born in our maternity center to our very own faculty and staff.

Our Services
We provide family-centered care from labor and delivery and beyond, including:
Labor and delivery — We emphasize keeping you with your baby and partner/support person as much as possible. Many of our staff members are certified in fetal monitoring. We also have 24/7 around-the-clock coverage by pediatricians.
Postpartum care — After your baby’s birth, you will stay in one of our private rooms with space for your baby and support person to stay with you overnight.
Lactation consultants — Registered nurses who are certified in lactation will see you at least once during your stay to help you get started with breast-feeding.
Antepartum care — We offer specialized care for women with pregnancy complications. In addition to medical care for your unique needs, antepartum care/in-hospital bed rest includes a variety of activities such as baby showers and educational programs.
