The Ohio State University Hospital East Community Day on Saturday (6/24) will feature a citation of recognition for the annual event from the Columbus mayor’s office, to be presented by James L. Stowe, executive director of the Community Relations Commission, at 9 a.m., when festivities begin.
Community Day continues through 1 p.m. at University Hospital East, 1492 E. Broad St., with free health screenings provided by UH East and JamesCare for cholesterol, blood sugar, wound care, dental health, and prostate and breast cancer. A health and information fair will feature more than 25 community organizations sharing information covering such topics as diabetes, epilepsy, nutrition, domestic violence, cancer and human services.
The American Red Cross will accept blood donations at Community Day.
The event includes live music, a drumline performance and live remote radio broadcasts by POWER 107.5 FM and MAGIC 98.9 FM.
Refreshments will be available and visitors will have a chance to enter a free raffle for a “mega” Buckeye basket.
