‘MARATHON MAN’ TO SPEAK AT OHIO STATE SPORTS MEDICINE’S ENDURANCE SYMPOSIUM
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Legendary marathon runner Bill Rodgers will speak at a free community presentation hosted by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center at 7 p.m. on Friday (6/20) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Martha Morehouse Medical Plaza, 2050 Kenny Road.
Rodgers is an internationally recognized endurance athlete best known for winning both the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon four times each. Rodgers has held numerous records on the track and for road races, and is a former American record holder in the marathon.
Those who attend the presentation can enter to win their choice of a running video gait analysis, bike fitting or swim stroke analysis with Ohio State’s endurance medicine experts.
The presentation is a part of the first annual symposium for the treatment of endurance athletes, hosted by OSU Sports Medicine. The symposium will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on June 21 in the Recruiting Room of the Ohio Stadium, 411 Woody Hayes Drive.
Topics covered at the symposium are designed and dedicated to the health and care of the endurance athlete - including training, biomechanics, medical conditions, injury prevention and rehabilitation, recent research, nutrition, psychology, pregnancy and gender differences. Keynote speakers will include OSU Sports Medicine experts, as well as Rodgers.
For more information or to register for the symposium, please contact Erin Meyer at 614-293-1008.
