Onate was selected by his peers at NATA as this year’s recipient of the esteemed accolade for his dedication to research achievements and significant accomplishments in advancing the profession. Also, he has demonstrated a commitment to the association through highly regarded initiatives, such as participation on NATA’s pronouncements committee, which helps to develop position statements, service on the editorial board for the Journal of Athletic Training and numerous research and clinical presentations.
Eligibility criteria for the reverent award includes: a 10-year membership with NATA; 10 years board certification; educational contributions displayed at undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels.
