COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is furthering initiatives for integration between regenerative medicine forces in Cleveland and Columbus.
The partnership between the Center for Regenerative Medicine and Cell-Based Therapies at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine and the National Center for Regenerative Medicine will promote collaboration and expand both the research base and the educational and training programs in the region.
“Our partnership will foster center-to-center synergies through cooperative thematic program development which leverage our key strengths, and by effectively engaging industry expertise across Ohio,” said Dr. Chandan Sen, director of Ohio State’s Center, professor and executive director of Ohio State’s Comprehensive Wound Center.
According to the industry experts, the growth of the field holds promise for novel healthcare solutions, in an area of expected to grow from a $1.5 billion operation to $12 billion annually.
The Center for Regenerative Medicine and Cell-Based Therapies aims to advance life sciences research and education at The Ohio State University and throughout the State of Ohio by creating a multi-college environment that fosters interdisciplinary interactions, and advances and disseminates knowledge in this emergent field. The goal is to deliver solutions in health care through effective public-private partnership. For more information about the Center please visit regenerativemedicine.osu.edu.
