OHIO STATE HOSTING PERSONALIZED HEALTH CARE NATIONAL CONFERENCE
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Center for Personalized Health Care at the Ohio State University Medical Center is hosting its fourth Personalized Health Care National Conference Oct. 6 – 7 at the Blackwell Inn, located at 2110 Tuttle Park Place, on the campus of The Ohio State University.
With a theme of “P4 Medicine and Its Impact on Clinical Care,” invited guests at The Johanna and Ralph DeStefano Personalized Health Care National Conference will hear from experts about the latest developments in P4 Medicine.
Media are invited to attend all sessions and should check in at the registration tables outside of the ballroom at the Blackwell Inn, located on the second floor of the hotel.
New this year, several scientific poster entries for the “Art of Science” competition will be on display during the conference reception on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.  More than 60 submissions, including scientific research images, diagrams and illustrations, are among pieces of scholarly work to be published. Conference attendees will cast their votes and winners will be awarded first, second and third place prizes.
Drs. Steven Gabbe, CEO of Ohio State’s Medical Center, and Steve Allen, CEO of Nationwide Children’s Hospital, will participate in a panel discussion titled, “Ohio as the Center for HealthCare Reform – A CEO’s Perspective,” on Friday, Oct. 7 from 11:30 a.m. – noon.
Attendees, including academic leaders, industry experts, government policy makers and healthcare providers from around the world, will hear from recognized experts about revolutionizing medicine and transforming healthcare delivery in a way which will result in more precise, cost-effective and higher quality health care for patients. Topics will focus on the infrastructure necessary to enable P4 Medicine, applications of genetics and genomics in clinical medicine, the latest breakthroughs in science, patient engagement and the barriers to making P4 Medicine a reality.
This year’s keynote speakers include William Dalton, MD, PhD, CEO and President, H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute; Carlo Croce, MD, The John W. Wolfe Chair in Human Cancer Genetics, Professor and Chairman, Department of Molecular Virology, Immunology & Medical Genetics, The Ohio State University; Ralph Snyderman, MD, Director of the Center for Research on Prospective Health Care, James B. Duke Professor of Medicine, Chancellor Emeritus, Duke University; Ann Pendleton-Jullian, PhD, Director, Architecture Section and Walter H. Kidd Professor, Austin E. Knowlton School of Architecture, The Ohio State University.
