COLUMBUS, Ohio – A leader of Duke University’s heart program has been named executive director at The Ohio State University Medical Center’s Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and chief operating officer of the OSU Heart and Vascular Center.  
Martha C. Taylor will oversee the administrative and operational functions of the 160-bed facility, one of the country’s first full-service academic heart hospitals, which is ranked among the top 25 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. 
Taylor began her career 25 years ago at Duke University, gradually earning positions of increasing leadership including director of heart center nursing and associate operating officer of the heart center clinical service unit.  Most recently she served as associate vice president of cardiovascular services as well as a clinical associate with the Duke University School of Nursing.    
“Marti has achieved a wealth of administrative experience in cardiovascular medicine and her perspective will help us continue our mission to provide the best possible care for our patients,” says Peter Geier, CEO of The Ohio State University Health System. “Her expertise will help to strengthen and expand our services and further our strategic growth.” 
A native of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University in Columbus and her master’s degree in nursing from Duke University.  
She served on the board of directors for the American College of Cardiovascular Administrators and she is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Academy of Medical Administrators, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the American Nurses Association, the American Heart Association’s Cardiovascular Nurses Society and the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. 
She has authored five articles in peer-reviewed journals.
