OSU TO LAUNCH SECOND ONLINE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS
The Ohio State University’s Center for Integrative Health and Wellness has launched their second professional online training program. The program, “Mind-Body Skills Training for Resilience, Effectiveness, and Mindfulness (Mind-Body STREAM)”, consists of 12 interactive modules designed for health professionals who want to become resilient in the face of stress and more effective helping patients. Each category within the program includes cases, latest scientific research, opportunities for reflective practices, experiential tools, tips for treating patients and practical resources. The first online training curriculum, “Introduction to Herbs and Dietary Supplements”, garnered over 1,200 participants and received international accolades since its release.
RHODES PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT RECEIVES BEACON AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
The 8 Rhodes Progressive Care Unit (8 PCU) at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has received the silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses for the second time. The silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence signifies continuous learning and effective systems to achieve optimal patient care. This distinction is only given to a select few nursing units in the U.S. each year based on rigorous standards in professional practice, patient care and outcomes in six categories. Other Beacon Award-winning units include 2 Ross, 4 Ross and the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Established in 2003, the Beacon Award for Excellence offers a road map to help guide exceptional care through improved outcomes and greater overall patient satisfaction.
