What is P4 Medicine?

Next month, more than 200 of the world's leading thinkers in health care are meeting at Ohio State for our fourth annual Personalized Health Care National Conference, once again putting Columbus at the center of a revolutionary new concept for health care, P4 Medicine.

Instead of focusing on treating illness, P4 Medicine emphasizes a lifelong process of health and wellness for each person. We believe this shift of attention will fundamentally improve each and every person's health for life.

The four Ps in P4 Medicine stand for predictive, preventive, personalized and participatory. To Predict, we're developing genetic tests and finding specific molecules in your body chemistry that predict your risk for disease and how your body will respond to treatments. To Prevent, we're creating therapies that prevent disease rather than simply treat symptoms. To Personalize, we're using your unique health data to tailor disease treatments specifically for you. To help you Participate, we are committed to helping you plan and achieve your health goals.

Each day, we're adding new P4 Medicine features to our programs and services at The Ohio State University Medical Center. We are changing the future of medicine, and our goal is to create a better, healthier future that improves people's lives.
