Letter from Dr. Gabbe

Honor Roll

I am proud to announce that U.S.News & World Report named The Ohio State University Medical Center one of America's top 21 hospitals in its most recent annual rankings. Of the 4,861 United States hospitals considered for the rankings, only those that earned high scores in quality, reputation and outcomes in six or more medical specialties were named to the magazine's Honor Roll. We are the first and only central Ohio hospital to achieve such recognition.

As the editors note, Honor Roll hospitals are the "best of the best" and "demonstrate an unusual breadth of excellence." This is the 17th consecutive year Ohio State has been named one of "America's Best Hospitals" by U.S. News, a tribute to our consistently high quality care and expertise. Rankings are based on such quality measures as patient volume, mortality and safety, nursing excellence, staffing levels, reputation and technology.

This recognition is great news for everyone in central Ohio, not just those of us who work for Ohio State's Medical Center. It means that, if you ever need it, the best health care in the country is available right here in central Ohio.
