Individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations play an important role in supporting the mission of the Ohio State's Heart and Vascular Center. In addition to annual gifts, some demonstrate their commitment to heart research and patient care programs by establishing permanent funds for research, fellowships or faculty positions, purchasing research equipment, sponsoring special events and underwriting programs for professional and public education. There are many meaningful opportunities to support Ohio State’s Heart Center.

Major gifts may be made outright or in memory or honor of others. Contributors at this level are recognized through the recognition walls in the lobby of the Ross Heart Hospital and the entrance to the Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, the annual report, invitations to special events and commemorative naming opportunities such as faculty positions or areas within the Ross Heart Hospital.

Examples of major gift opportunities include:

  • Endowment – A gift that is invested to provide income for the OSU Heart and Vascular Center.
  • President's Club – The Ohio State University's largest and most prestigious major donor recognition group.
  • Equipment – A number of outstanding scientists have come to Ohio State to help find new treatments for cardiovascular disease, the nation’s number one killer. The researchers in Ohio State's Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute have increased technology needs. Because most government grants and contracts do not cover equipment expenses, private support is vital to efficient and effective research.
