Dr. Gabbe talks about the second annual conference on Personalized Health Care.
Hi! I’d like to start this week by saying congratulations and thank you for your efforts on behalf of our patients. We scored above our fiscal year targets in the first month of the new academic year for patient satisfaction. This is an important measure for us, and I appreciate all you are doing to improve the experience for our patients and their loved ones.
One of the great things about our work here at the Medical Center is that we touch so many lives from not just central Ohio but around the world. And, later this week, we will demonstrate that as we host an international conference on personalized health care.
The Ohio State University Center for Personalized Health Care will hold its second annual conference on Personalized Health Care, October 1st and 2nd. The theme this year is “Transforming Health Care Through Personalized Medicine.” Topics include: Innovations in medicine and care delivery that lead to lower cost and improved effectiveness and outcomes, as well as the opportunities and challenges of integrating personalized health care into clinical practice and the role of academic medical centers in advancing personalized health care through both research, education and clinical care.
The conference will bring together academic leaders, industry experts, government policy makers and healthcare providers from around the nation and the world to discuss the latest developments in research and the challenges of translating these discoveries into clinical practice.
It’s an exciting opportunity for us to share our expertise and learn from others.
Our keynote speakers are internationally renowned experts in personalized medicine: Dr. Ralph Snyderman, Chancellor Emeritus at Duke University and Dr. Leroy Hood, the president and founder of the Institute of Systems Biology. They will share their insights on the latest developments and the future of personalized medicine.
You can learn more about the conference and how we are advancing personalized health care here at the Medical Center by visiting the web site for the OSU Center for Personalized Health Care. You can find the site by typing “personalized health care” into the OneSource search.
I’d like to thank Dr. Clay Marsh and his team in the Center for Personalized Health Care for their efforts in planning this conference. It’s one of the ways we are creating the future of medicine here at Ohio State.
Well, have a great week and see you at the conference!
