High Risk Pregnancy

Expert Fetal Diagnostics and Treatment

(614) 293-2222

As new diagnostic tools help us detect problems at an earlier stage of pregnancy, fetal treatment provides a surgical means to correct or improve some of these problems while your baby is still in utero. Some amazing advances have been made in fetal therapy, many of them right here at Ohio State.

If prenatal testing indicates that fetal treatment is required, you can rest assured that you will receive the best care available from a team of dedicated experts.

The Fetal Treatment Program delivers a unique level of teamwork, expertise and innovation, offering treatments for such issues as maternal red blood cell or platelet isoimmunization, twin-twin transfusion syndrome, fetal bladder outlet obstruction, non-immune hydrops fetalis, fetal pleural effusions, fetal ascites or other abnormalities. Though some of these terms may be unfamiliar to you now, should the need arise, you will receive complete and thorough explanations of each step of every procedure.

OSU Medical Center is a member of the North American Fetal Therapy Network  (NATNet). NAFTNet is an association of medical centers in the United States and Canada with established expertise in fetal surgery and other forms of multidisciplinary care for complex disorders of the fetus.
