About Me
I believe it is my job to provide individualized care and also to advocate and coordinate the care of my patients as they navigate an increasingly complex health care system.
I provide care for patients of all ages. I am board certified in pediatrics and internal medicine and enjoy caring for a wide variety of patients. I’m particularly interested in caring for adult patients on the autism spectrum. I believe these patients deserve physicians who understand their needs and life experiences and will work with them to overcome the barriers they face in seeking healthcare.
Working at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center allows me to pursue my dream of providing excellent patient care. It allows me to teach medical students and residents the skills to become capable and compassionate physicians. And it allows me to develop new methods to care for patients on the autism spectrum as they transition to adult-based care.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. We love Dr. Hanks. He is the best provider we could ask for. He genuinely cares about my daughter and us, he thinks through everything to get the best outcome. He is always patient, positive, and helpful with my daughter. He makes sure to address her (being 5 years old) as well as me. He is reassuring about an issues and makes sure we understand everything.
